SECRET STATUE – a public art work that transformed SALAKAUPPA into a living sculpture.
SECRETS STATUE was a series of moments bringing statues to life.

We have memorials all around in our cities depicting important persons who've passed away. We don't think much who they were nor what they said or did. The SECRET STATUE project wants to challenge this culture and give voice to the statues.

A ceremonial unveiling of a new statue took place every day 7 pm during the Helsinki Design Week 2016.



SECRET STATUE is part of HDW HOP City Installations.

Director of Helsinki Art Museum HAM and the Mother of all statues and public sculptures in Helsinki. Over 200 public sculptures in the city belong to theHAM collections. Unveiling of a new statue every day at 7 pm.

04.09.2016. SALAPATSAS / SECRET STATUE ready for the first unveiling of a statue.
Secret Statue is a public art work that transforms SALAKAUPPA into a living sculpture. Secret Statue will be a series of moments bringing statues to life. Invited guest statue-persons will give speeches during the Helsinki Design Week. A ceremonial unveiling of a new statue takes place every day at 7 pm. The project is part of HDW HOP City Installations. SALAKAUPPA open Mon-Sun 13-18.
